Artist Spotlight: Temples

Temples are an English rock band that emerged from the town of Kettering, formed in 2012 by vocalist and guitarist James Bagshaw and bassist Tom Walmsley. Known for their distinctive blend of psychedelia, the band’s sound harks back to the golden era of the 60s and 70s while injecting modern sensibilities, creating a refreshing amalgamation of vintage and contemporary influences. After self-releasing a couple of tracks online, Temples quickly caught the attention of notable figures in the music industry, leading to a deal with Heavenly Recordings. They released their debut album, “Sun Structures,” in 2014, which was met with critical acclaim and saw them touring extensively across the globe. The album’s shimmering melodies and lush production soared, laying a strong foundation for their subsequent work. The band continues to evolve with their follow-up records like “Volcano” (2017) and “Hot Motion” (2019), each expanding their sonic palette and pushing the boundaries of psychedelic rock.
One standout track, “Paraphernalia,” exemplifies their ability to merge catchy hooks with intricate, kaleidoscopic soundscapes. Produced by famed musician Sean Ono Lennon, the track showcases a mature yet adventurous evolution in their music, marked by lush instrumentation and an infectious groove.
