Artist Spotlight: Sloppy Jane

Sloppy Jane is the brainchild of Haley Dahl, a Brooklyn-based musician and performance artist known for her avant-garde approach to indie rock.

Formed in 2014, Sloppy Jane began as a punk-inspired project in Los Angeles before evolving into a more experimental and orchestral endeavor. Dahl’s vision for the band has always been ambitious, often incorporating unconventional instruments and theatrical live performances.

“Claw Machine,” a track from “Madison,” exemplifies Sloppy Jane’s penchant for dramatic compositions and Dahl’s emotive vocals. The song builds from a sparse, echoing beginning to a crescendo of strings and percussion, showcasing the band’s ability to create cinematic musical experiences.
