Maggie Rogers
Maggie Rogers is an American singer-songwriter who burst onto the music scene with a unique blend of folk, electronic, and pop elements. Born in 1994 in Easton, Maryland, Rogers grew up playing folk music and studying classical piano.
Her breakthrough came in 2016 when a video of Pharrell Williams reacting to her song “Alaska” during a masterclass at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute went viral. This catapulted Rogers into the spotlight, leading to her major-label debut EP, “Now That the Light Is Fading,” in 2017.
Rogers’ full-length debut album, “Heard It in a Past Life,” was released in 2019 to critical acclaim. The album, which includes the hit single “Light On,” showcases her ability to blend organic and electronic sounds seamlessly. “Light On” itself is a perfect example of Rogers’ style, featuring introspective lyrics, soaring vocals, and a pulsing electronic backdrop.
Known for her energetic live performances and distinctive fashion sense, Rogers has quickly become a festival favorite and a rising star in the indie-pop world. Her music often explores themes of nature, self-discovery, and personal growth, resonating with a wide audience and earning her a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2020.
In 2022, Rogers released her sophomore album, “Surrender,” further cementing her place in the music industry with her evolving sound and poignant songwriting.
