Juicy J, born Jordan Michael Houston on April 5, 1975, is a Memphis-born rapper, producer, and entrepreneur who’s left an indelible mark on hip-hop culture.

Rising to fame as a founding member of the influential Southern rap group Three 6 Mafia in the early ’90s, Juicy J helped pioneer the crunk and trap subgenres. The group’s gritty, hypnotic sound became a blueprint for Southern hip-hop, culminating in an Oscar win for “It’s Hard out Here for a Pimp” in 2006.

After Three 6 Mafia’s hiatus, Juicy J reinvented himself as a solo artist, dropping mixtapes and collaborating with a new generation of rappers. His breakout solo hit “Bandz a Make Her Dance” in 2012 solidified his status as a hip-hop elder statesman still capable of crafting club bangers.
