Evanescence has been a potent force in the alternative rock and metal scene since its inception in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1995. Co-founded by the magnetic vocalist and pianist, Amy Lee, and former guitarist Ben Moody, the band has navigated significant lineup changes while maintaining a distinctive sound defined by hauntingly beautiful melodies, symphonic elements, and a signature blend of gothic imagery and modern rock instrumentation.
